  • divorce and separation support
  • treatment for depression and anxiety
  • HIV/AIDS counseling
  • counseling for people with physical disabilities
  • stress management
  • gay/lesbian/bisexual/ transgender counseling
  • personal growth counseling
  • grief counseling
  • various support groups that are created and managed on an as-needed basis.

In addition to traditional “talk” therapy, Milford Regional Counseling Services also offers alternate, innovative treatments such as expressive, play, and relational therapy to best meet the needs of all clients.

The agency also specializes in providing counseling services to the homeless and dually diagnosed individuals (those with both mental illness and substance abuse issues).    Over the past two years, Milford Regional Counseling Services’ expertise and services increased to include alcohol and drug counseling, in conjunction with mental health counseling.   Often, substance abuse and mental illness go hand in hand.    Known as “co-occurring disorders”, each illness affects the other, and specialized counseling is necessary to address this complicated condition.

Affordable Counseling

Thanks to our Milford Area Affordable Counseling Program (MAACP), our services are available to everyone, regardless of  health insurance and/or the ability to pay the full fee for services.  The  MAACP not only subsidizes the costs of providing professional counseling services and enables Milford Regional Counseling Services to offer fees on a sliding scale, but it also provides for off-site counseling sessions to clients who lack access to transportation to our Milford office.

Most new patients can be seen 24-48 hours after their initial phone call to our office.  Please contact us for more information.

Since our beginnings, we have provided critically needed mental health treatment and counseling to thousands of individuals and families.
